Joseph teamed up with brother Pete Bellisano and opened their first gym in 2005 with the
desire to build a community where people of all fitness levels could come
together, enhance their lives, push their physical limits, become
friends, and have fun while working out. Soon the brothers took a tired
run of the mill "health club" and turned into a community of fitness
enthusiasts who embraced their unique approach and vision. From 2006
to 2010 times changed, the economy changed, but our will and
determination never stopped. Our community grew and sparked us to pursue
our dream location. In October of 2010 we moved into our 4,000 square
foot garage bay headquarters. Our family has since grown and we are loving the new space! We firmly believed that our
approach to fitness appeals to people of all fitness levels.
I constantly strive to provide the knowledge and tools necessary for you to achieve and surpass your expectations.
My Philosophy:
My before and After:
Before: 297lbs After: 196lbs
When I was a college kid, I was an aspiring power lifter who never cared too much about physique, only how much weight I could move. My coaches and friends would always encourage me to eat more to “gain size,” until one day that all came crashing down. I hurt myself attempting "new personal records" on squats because I was so obsessed with increasing the weight, instead of perfected my form and technique. Much like anything else, once you break a routine, it’s hard to get back into it. My injury prevented me from pursuing my one passion, lifting weights. I was embarrassed to go back because I was so fat and could only move a fraction of the weight that I used to.
The weight room was my form of meditation ever since I was young (about 13). Without it, I became lost and depressed. Unable to train and still following the prescription "eat heavy to lift heavy," I got to the heaviest/unhealthiest weight of my life. I remember looking in the mirror one evening after work, with my shirt off, thinking “Who the hell is this?” It tormented me. I was fat, I was overweight and I was unrecognizable to myself.

My doctor expressed concern because of my rapid weight gain, I weighed in at 297lbs, and my blood pressure was 170/110. He told me that if I didn’t get my act together that I would be a diabetic and on insulin by the time I was 25years old (I was 22). I thought to myself, “I can’t do this anymore. I want to be 55+ years old playing sports with my kids, nephews, and nieces! I want to be healthy!!!” I started changing my life that day! I devised an executable plan with one major goal and several shorter goals between. I began exercising at home and in my backyard with minimal fancy equipment. I used tree limbs, rocks, stones, and my body weight… if there was ANYTHING I could lift up and run with, I did! I watched what I ate and avoided: processed foods, sugars, soda, alcohol, etc. I didn’t want to deprive myself of the foods I loved all of the time, I was afraid that I would binge and go right back --so once a week, I allowed myself to a "cheat meal." The pounds started to shed fast! In 8 months, I went from 297lbs to 212lbs. That’s 85lbs! I’ve since continued that progression and now weigh 196lbs, a 101lb differential!
My methodology and practices are not just based on something that I've read or by following the tons of different get fit quick schemes. It’s something that I've lived! I have seen my body adapt, respond, and be in the best shape of my life because of our (my brother Pete and I) approach to strength and wellness. I can tell you from experience that you don’t need to get caught up in the fancy equipment and the latest fads… your body's natural design needs to and wants to respond to different stimuli –don’t deprive it!
